I photographed these Syrian / Palestinian children in an unknown isolated place in the world.
In this center they learn to read and write. Nobody must know about their existence.
In these photographs the teacher tries to help them with expressing their anger and regulating their emotions to find grounding in where they are. Although nobody wants them to be there, even themselves. Their story must remain invisible, based on the necessity to keep them hidden. They have been excluded out of fear that something might happen to them in case you and others find out about them.
Their existence has been denied mentally, physically, emotionally and separated through a barrier (or fence) Crossing the boundaries is impossible for some of them. Not only due to the lack of money, but also because of the lack of papers.
Having their faces sharp and the location sharp might cause social unrest and serious consequences for the center where they get informal education, as it was the case a while ago. For this reason the photograph has been opted for softness and blur in the pictures to highlight this cause… How you would feel if you had to stay invisible in the real world.
